Lots to be Happy for this week on my List.

I have A LOT to be happy for this past week.  First of All is my New Blog Design!!!  I love it!!!!!!  Thank you so much Samantha's Day. You did an awesome job!  It was like having Christmas all over again.

And I have joined up with a new Blog Swap thanks to Happiness is a journey for Janna. I received my confirmation email today - this is going to be sooo much fun.  I love swaps!

I actually have two giveaways going on at the same time!  That is so exciting for me as I am newer to the giveaways and I am have having a ball.  If you haven't already entered here they are again

Happy List that is LONG and Covers the Last Few Weeks.

I wish everyone could see me right now.  I am doing the happy dance while easily typing this post on my.......

NEW COMPUTER!!!!!  Yes, HP finally did the right thing and replaced my 2/3 month old computer that never worked right and finally wouldn't work.  After a HUGE, long ordeal with the company, which is a story in and of its self, they finally took my old piece of s*** and give me sometime that will work for a long time (fingers crossed) hopefully.

So now I have a lot of work to do on my blog since I can get it done in a timely fashion with this new computer - compared to the tiny, sloooooow notebook computer I had been borrowing from a friend.

I can't wait to start sharing recipes that I have been making and documenting with photos with all my followers, while I have been having computer issues.

Happy to say that my Lindt Chocolate Giveaway is going better than expected (which ends today 02-19-11 at 11:59pm MST).  I have had more entries than I ever have on a Giveaway!

 

I have found a new candy love.  I don't know if that is good or bad (good because it tastes awesome, but bad for the waist line).  It is from Blair Candy.  They are now carrying a new way to create a huge candy assortment for a great price.  It is called the Custom Candybar Box.  I think it should be called "A little piece of heaven".  I ordered one of course and I am not disappointed!

 

My son's 7th Birthday Party was a hit!  Thank God for Pizza Hut as everything was thawing outside and a HUGE mess - couldn't imagine the children in our small house.

It's makes me smile looking at how much fun they all had.  It was a Good Mom Day that day.

 

After a Facebook comment to Aunt Nellies - "My boys and I are so disappointed and going through withdrawals..we can no longer find the sweet and sour red cabbage. I think I feel a blog entry coming on...would love to do a giveaway and a review."

I am excited to say they contacted me and are sending us some Sweet and Sour Red Cabbage to review on my blog.  My boys are very excited and ask daily if it has arrived in the mail yet.

 

And Last but not Least...Rubbermaid has selected me to test out a new pantry item before it is being sold in the stores.  Very excited and can't wait for it to arrive.

 

Okay enough typing - I think my new computer is smoking.....

Happy List

Well - I guess I will start off my Happy List this week with....

I am Happy....I am actually able to post this Happy List with my friends tiny Notebook computer - as my "LOVELY" HP computer is back for repairs a second time and it is now only 3 months old! Sooo frustrating, but Thank God for such great friends.

I am Happy....I am part of Dandelion Wishes Pinktastic-Swaptastic - and my package was done in time and sent out to my partner MiMi on Friday!  I can't wait to see what she thinks :)

I am Happy....and Proud of my now 7 year old son Dylan - he turned 7 a few days ago - He did very well in his first basketball game.  It was awesome watching him + I am Happy....that he is going to have a "friend" Birthday Party next weekend and I found away NOT to have it at our small house - Pizza Hut is my saviour - No charge for the Party Room, just need to buy the pizza -so PARTY ON!!!!

Happy List thanks to Coffee-mate

Well the main part of my Happy List this week is Thanks to my trip from Coffee-mate!

It was such an awesome trip and the weather was perfect.  Check out the view from our room!

We wined and dined and enjoyed being a couple again.   It is amazing how you sometimes can forget what it is like to be a couple again with out children in tow (but we couldn't wait to get home to their smiling faces).

I learned so much about Nestle Coffee-mate and how much they actually care about their consumers - what a great change of pace for a large cooperation.

Arrived home late Saturday to find an awesome box from Granola Snacks on my door step - need I say more about that.

Helped Dylan complete his 100th day of School shirt with 100 gummy candies (his idea).  It turned out great so can't wait to send him to school wearing it on Wends.

And last but not least - My Gooseberry Cookbook arrived which features one my my recipes!!!

***Only complaint my "lovely" 2 month old HP computer is acting up again - so I am wondering if they company is going to want it shipped back once again for repairs :(

Happy List - WooooHooo

Well - My first item to add to my Happy List this week is......

Thank God! My computer is back from being fixed and I no longer have to try to manage on a borrowed TINY Notebook computer from a dear friend.  Wow - It so reminds you how much technology means.

I have my hair cut scheduled for Monday -

Time to get my long "locks" cut off so I can donate them to Locks of Love and go to the media with the news to help spread the message about Cervical Cancer Awareness Month.  I am excited and a bit nervous to go back to short hair - but it is well worth it!

By the way have you gotten your pap this year???

Was a extremely busy week at work - Glad the weekend is hear to enjoy with my family.

And only 5 more days until I am on my way to LA - Thanks again Coffee-mate!

1st Happy List for 2011

Wow - it is time to write my first Happy List of 2011.  There are so many things I am Happy and Thankful for this week...so it is going to be hard to just select a few...but here it goes....

The top of my list is I love Christmas - but I am EXCITED the Christmas tree is finally put away - (as of a few hours ago!!!)  Now there is more room for my boys to play.

Let's see the last Happy List item for the week would be my flight to LA is officially booked - thanks to Coffee-mate Brew Crew!!!  I still can't believe I am one of the lucky 10 selected for this Trip of a Lifetime.  Less than two weeks and I will be in Sunny LA.  Wow!  I can't believe I just typed that and it's about me! 

So I know what my Happy List is going to be about in a few weeks - a HUGE recap of this awesome trip with my husband (yes, just with my husband - no children along- I am going to be soo lost without them, but what a great opportunity ) -thanks to Coffeemate.

I won a $20 gift certificate for a wonderful Esty store called AZbeadgirl.  I have select a beautiful bracelet.

And I just want to say I am so proud of my 1st Grade son.  He did awesome at his Christmas program last week.

Well I have quite the Happy List this week!!!
So hear I go.....

1) Thank you so much Evelyn .  My 12 days of Christmas Swap package arrived yesterday!  I so can't wait for tomorrow and start opening a present each day.  Thanks again Evelyn and Sami for letting me in on my 1st ever Swap - If you can't tell I feel like a little kid again...and it awesome.

2)  I received a Super Exciting Email from the Coffeemate Brew Crew ...Which I am a proud member - as I posted about awhile back about applying for the Coffee-mate Fan Appreciation Trip to L.A. - I am one of the 10 who have been selected!!!!  Wow! Wow! Wow!  What an honor.  I have never been to CA let a long a large city like L.A.  Now if they will just let my darling hubby go along - I will be making the big exciting trip toward the end of Jan.  What a way to ring in the new year!!!  So say a prayer or two for me that they let him come along  - so I will make the trip! :)  My current favorite flavor of Coffee-mate is the Gingerbread Latte - it is sooooo good.  What is your seaonal favorite?

3) I also woke up to another great email today.  I won my 1st blog contest - thanks to middayescapades . I won an awesome - 12 piece box Rosa's Gourmet Fudge.  Can't wait for it to arrive and try it out.

4) And my Christmas baking is still going well.  Just finished more peanut brittle today and hard anise candy - so my house smells like Christmas.  Now I just have to get busy decorating the tree.

My Happy List

Well another week has went by - and I still have more Christmas baking to do - But I have made plenty more treats during this past week!  My Christmas goodies bags are going to be awesome this year.

I am excited to say I was able to return to light duty at work this week.  I get to sit at my desk and type reports - Hey, but I am not complaining - at least I don't have to go on FMLA again this year!  Thank God for that.

The 1st Swap I have every participated in is going awesome.  I love my Swap Partner Evelyn . She is the coolest.  And I already mailed my package out to her on Friday!!!  I am so excited - I hope Evelyn likes it as much as I enjoyed putting it all together!


A Childhood candy favorite of mine was and still it Twin Bings!!!

I contacted Palmer Candy Company this week to see if they sold seconds!  They do! They do! They do!  I am now on the waiting list and as soon as they get some in they will be mailing me out a 5 pound box for 11.95 + shipping.  What deal!  I am so excite - now I just have to be patient for them to arrive.

The last thing is I received an awesome FedEx package today.  It was from Allrecipes.com - I won a twitter contest they were having over Thanksgiving. 

An avocado Slicer and this awesome dual ended small spatula.  The spatula made by Chef'n is my new favorite Kitchen tool.  I used it so much in the kitchen today with my holiday baking!  It is the most beautiful color of Eggplant and heat resistant up to 650 degrees!

My first Giveaway! tops my Happy List for the week.  Don't forget to sign up for your chance to win :).  I love King Arthur products.  I think my husband is going to be getting me some new baking supplies for Chirstmas this year - yeah!!!

It was great Thanksgiving here - we all enjoyed turkey and stuffing!  The only sad part was my parents couldn't make it out - they were iced in - but the positive note is they are safe and sound at there house.

I am happy to say, other that for my husband's gift  - I AM DONE WITH CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!!!!  What a relief that is and I was able to save alot of money this year.  I found a ton of excellent sales.

I am going to make this a short happy list - because I have to go start making my spritz cookies!  God I love them!

Wow, are are so many things I could reflect on for my official happy list.  But I think the biggest is the honesty of Mamarazzi.  Thank you so much Mamarazzi for reaching out to me and helping me understand blog etiquette and sharing some other much needed information.  You are the best and you have my vote for Top Blog 2010 . So anyone that is reading this can click onto the Top Blog 2010 and vote for OurDandelionWishes.  She so deserves its.

Well another Happy List item is - I am participating in my 1st Blog Swap.  It is going to be so awesome.  Thank you  Sami and Evelyn  for the opportunity to feel like a kid again with the 12 Days of Christmas Swap.  I already have some great ideas!

I also continue to complete a lot of my Christmas baking and Candy making as you can see by my other posts.  I love the Holiday Season and the smell of all the goodies baking.  I found out earlier in the week that King Arthur Flour is going to be sponsoring a giveaway on my site in a week or two.  It is going to be awesome.

My knee after surgery continues to heal very slowly.  But I am making Baby Steps - and that is progress.  Thank the Lord.

My Happy List for the Week :)

I decided this week to post a Happy List like this great Blog I follow - *DandelionWishes* . Check out her link at the bottom of my Blog.

I received a wonderful and unexpected Surprise in the mail this past week from Gooseberry Patch.  Let me explain - I believe around a year ago I submitted a recipe on the Gooseberry Patch website http://www.gooseberrypatch.com/.  If I remember right they were having a contest of some sort for traditional recipes that have been handed down.  I submitted a great recipe for German Anise Cookies that my Grandmother shared with me years ago.  The reason I asked for it was that my mother was talking about these great cookies that she use to eat as a girl and hadn't had them for a very long time.  She didn't have the recipe but believe her mom - my Grandmother would. 

Well I emailed my Grandma in 2006 and asked about it.  This is what she said: "You can buy these cookies anytime in Germany - small little fancy bag for $2 or $3 Quite expensive.

German Anise Cookies (They are touchy but once you figure them out it works).

2 med.size eggs      1 cup white sugar     3/4 tsp.Anise extract       1 cup flour

In small bowl beat eggs on high speed for 4 minutes ..Gradually add sugar ...beating on high for 10 min. until thick ... Add extract and beat in flour on low speed ..

Drop cookie from a rounded teaspoon on greased cookie sheet . Let stand to dry overnight 10 to 12 hr.. Do not refrigerate ....Bake at 350 (on top rack) for 10 to 12 min. .

I spray my cookie sheet lightly and wipe off excess ....I also leave mine set out in the sunroom for about 8hrs. during the day and bake in evening...I bake mine on a air tray and remove them from the tray as soon as I take them from the oven ..

They always taste the same but sometimes they do not get like a pillow top [shiny].

I am sooooo excited the recipe was selected for the German Anise Cookies to be included in the upcoming cookbook "Sunday Dinner at Grandma's" published by the Gooseberry Patch.

I can't wait to share the great news with everyone!!! I love Gooseberry Patch and can't wait for this great family recipe to be enjoyed by others!  The best part is they will give me a discount if I order five or more of the books - so if any family members are interested - just let me know and I will get the order placed.  It sounds like the cookbook is due out the end of December. 

Did I mention that I am so honor and excited.  This is just great to have the family recipe to be saved for our generations and others to enjoy.
