The first I am going to talk about is the Mia Mariu Refreshing Foaming Gel Cleanser.  I was surprised to see how big this bottle of cleanser was.  It is 4oz that is sulfate free and made with sea kelp and aloe to gently clean and purify your skin.  It costs only $19.  My skin as very sensitive at times and this cleaner felt great going on and left my skin feeling smooth, clean and refreshed.  It did not irritate at all.  This cleaner smelled clean and made a nice foam when combined on my face with water.  The foam rinsed off easily.  Be careful when applying it as a little goes a long way.  The push top bottle allows for the cleaner so come out quickly.

The second is the Anti-Aging Mai Mariu Eye Cream which costs $20 for .5oz.  This compact bottle has a very  nice and easy to dispense pump button with a small opening.  As you do not need to apply that much around your skin in the morning and evening.  So far I have been using this product for 3 weeks and I still have plenty left so don't let the price scare you away.  There is no smell what so ever and I love that it is oil free and safe for sensitive skin.  It absorbs quickly and doesnt' leave my skin feeling weighted down.  Each bottle contains Japanese Green Tea, Aloe and Vitamins B5 and E another with other great ingredients.  The combination is to help reduce puffiness and dark circles around your eyes.  Personally I didn't notice much of a different but it left my skin feeling great and looking refreshed.

Last but not least is the Anti-aging Brightening Serum.  A 1 ounce bottle costs $38.  The serum reminds me of a lotion but a little thinner which is easily dispensed from a pump button on the top of the bottle.  There is also no scent with this product.  This serum targets sun spots and other areas of your skin with uneven pigmentation...it also can bright your over all skin.  This Mia Mariu Serum is also oil free and non irritating.  That is great as I find a lot of serums on the market today and be pretty tough on the skin.  I am blessed so far with even skin tone and limited wrinkles so I am not sure how well it works, other than I loved the way it felt on my skin and wasn't irritating.

I was in love with the selection I received from GoBites to review.  It included everything from sweet to salty to spicy.  Some of the 100% recyclable trays contained just beautiful dried fruits, others contained fruits and nuts, some just nuts and seeds, others had chocolate mixed in!  So many different selections and many others that I didn't have the chance to sample.  See a menu of all of GoBites offerings, right here.

Look at the amazing portion controlled serving of Pineapple Coconut Mix.

It was that simple...Organic Pineapple and Organic Coconut.  I loved the chewiness of the fresh dried pineapple.  And only 110 calories.

The Sweet Siam helped me learn about new dried fruit...Organic dried Rambutan (that is the big darker pieces in the photo).  I enjoyed the rambutan and especially the combination of the walnuts with this exotic fruit.

The Incan Treasure was a true hidden treasure to my palette.  The strong flavors and complex textures left my mouth wanting more.  The Organic Dark Chocolate Cacao Nibs were almost bitter in a good way and had a nice crunch.  The Organic Mango was beautiful and earthy with a slight chew.  The Organic Whole Dry Roasted Almonds allowed their flavor to explode.  And the Organic Golden Raisins were nice and sweet.

These are only a small sampling of what I received.  And yes, I am in love with GoBites.com and now subscribe!!

I think my biggest suggestion for GoBites is to put the nutritional facts on each individual package.  The sheet that came in my box from GoBites contained all that info, but when I placed a portion controlled tray or two along, I was never sure how many calories I was consuming.

Gourmet Protein Bars - Pure Fitness Nutrition All Natural Review

I was so grateful to be giving the chance to receive three free protein bars make by Pure Fitness Nutrition to sample and share my opinions.  Any of you out there can relate that there are so many different types of protein bars out on the market today.  Some are amazing and others belong in the trash can.

These Gourmet Protein Bars by Pure Fitness Nutrition surprised me with their very simple packaging. The packing reminded of something I could do out of my own kitchen, but the labels were very detailed with the ingredients, calories and other important information.  I loved reading the labels and learning that these gourmet protein bars contain clean raw oats, healthy agave which helps regulate your blood sugar and also gives you sustained energy levels which do not case fat storage like sugar can.  They also use all natural honey to make some of their varieties moist and delicious.

I was hopeful with the homemade look to their packaging that this pack full of protein gourmet bars would be delicious. 

I first tried the Peanut Butter and Jelly Crunch.

This bar was beautiful to look at and satisfying to eat.  I like that is is made with All Natural Ingredients and NO trans fat.  The raw oats and chica seeds gave it a great crunch.  The bar was very dense but not hard on my teeth.  It lead to a nice chew which I found slowed me down when enjoying a bar, which helped satisfy my hunger. 

The natural peanut butter, natural strawberry jam and sprinkle of sea salt added a great and complex flavor profile.  It was sweet and yet salty at times. 

The Gourmet Banana Chocolate Nut Protein Bar was loaded full of Natural banana flavor thanks to dried banana. 

How does a company go wrong with the combination of chocolate and banana....They Can't!!

This hand made protein bar flavor was delicious with a firm but not hard on your teeth chew.  The chocolate was a light flavor note and did not over power the beauty of the bananas, walnuts and raw oats.

And last but not least was the Dark Chocolate Cranberry Gourmet Protein Bar.

My first words to describe this bar was shock and love.  My mouth was greeted with a moist yet chewy chocolaty protein bar with a hint of cinnamon.  It reminded me of Mexican Hot Chocolate.  Delicious!!!  And the moist cranberries tucked in the bar were tart and flavorful.  This bar is a Winner!


I wanted to mention that Pure Fitness Nutrition's Gourmet Protein Bars do contain slightly more calories that other protein bars.  Each of the three bars I reviewed contained between 341 and 391 calories.  But I feel the combination of All Natural Ingredients and 25 grams of protein accounted for the extra calories and meet a well balanced and healthy diet.

Garden Inspiration - Miracle-Gro’s The Gro Project

Well, after to unexpected April Blizzards here in Nebraska, I think Spring has finally sprung.  And I have gardening fever.  But in my area of the country I still have to wait awhile for digging in to our soil outside.  But that doesn’t mean I can’t start other simple and fun garden projects.  Especially the ones that get my three boys involved.

All you need is a fish bowl or other glass container, some cactus or other succulents, Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix, Rocks, a spoon and some extra plastic toys or figures for your children’s room.  Okay, doesn’t like sound like fun?  We are going to have a blast.  I can’t wait to see how our Toyrarium will turn out. 

 

So all you need to do is:

1) Get a fish fish bowl or other glass container (I love to repurpose!)

2) Add some Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix in the bottle of the bowl or container.

3) Then plant your cactus or other plants by using a spoon.

4)  Last have you children personalize the project with some of their small toys.

I better make sure to buy some indoor Shake’n Feed All Purpose Plant Food to supplement our so to be fun indoor cactus garden.  Or maybe I should check out the LiquaFeed All Purpose Plant Food Advance Starter Kit?  I will have to read up about the differences and see what will be the best.

Vitacost sent me a great box of assorted products from fitness to health to pet to review and below are my thoughts on all of them. 

I think I will start with the Health and Fitness Products I received.  The ProMax workout shirt was a nice surprise.  The shirt was an added bonus and is great to wear to the gym.

ProMax and Celsius

Speaking of ProMax, I had never tried the Fit N' Crisp snack before.  I love it...it is a sweet rice crispy vanilla treat with protein.  It is a win, win for me.  It gets my sweet tooth satisfied as well as my hunger.  This will be a repeat purchase for me. 

The ProMax Pro Series Peanut Butter Crisp is packed full of protein - 28 grams to be specific.  This an extreme protein bar, but doesn't taste like you are chewing on a hale bale.  The texture was nice and not overly firm.  The flavor profile was pleasant with a nice peanut butter taste.  Just be aware if you are watching your calories each bar contains 350 calories.

Ahh....my workout necessity - Celsius!!!  The negative calorie drink - this can help burn up to 100 calories during your workout.  How perfect.  It gives me a lot of extra energy to get through my workouts without the jitters.  I am a Celsius addict!!  No, really I am!  You have got to try this fitness / workout drink!

TwinLab Nitric Fuel is an extreme strength and pump supplement.  You need to read the label carefully and make sure you start this supplement very slowly and drink plenty of water.  You will feel this supplement.  Make sure you are ready for an intensive hour or two workout.  As, this fuel will keep you going and going and going.

The MegaFood Kid's Vitamin D3 was not a do again with my boys. They did not like the taste at all.  So that is all I have to say about this product.
