Professor Iris Children's Educational DVD Giveaway / Review $19.95 Value

As a mother of a pre-schooler, at times it feels like a struggle to find fun, educational programing for him to enjoy.  So I am always searching for new programs to share.  And in turn sharing educational programing I can spark my son's creativity and ability to grow mentally.

First of all as a Mom I must stay Iris is Super Cute!  I love how entertaining the episodes are and they keep your attention as well has your child's.  But not only your child's attention kept....the amount of fun learning that takes place is outstanding!  This DVD is a hit at our home.  And I love listening to the excitement and squeals as my son watches Iris and learns from a puppet that seems to come to life.

Here is a little back ground on the Iris videos (there are 3 different Iris Volumes). 

They are geared towards preschoolers and children between the ages of 3 and 7.  Each Iris DVD is created by the award-winning cartoonist and animator Henri Desclez. 

Iris is a Professor who is a bird that wears a cute over sized bow tie.  He teaches from his science classroom.  And boy does he teach!  Iris teaches his students (your child) the science behind everyday things from balloons to teeth to shapes, or bees!

I know these topics and sound beyond what a Preschool can understand but Professor Iris is able to explain these facts to young children.

Café Jerusalem Kosher Breakfast Blend - This is a great mild/light blend of coffee to start your morning off on the right foot.  It is nice and smooth without any aftertaste.

Café Jerusalem Kosher Lion's Gate - Wow, this blend will get you going with its dark roast.  There is not doubt that this is a full bodied coffee with some smoky undertones.  This is sure to satisfy the true coffee lovers want.  Personally I found out if you do not finely grind the beans, it takes a little bit of the powerful flavor edge off.

Café Jerusalem Kosher King David's Espresso - Yes, as you can tell by the name this is going to be a strong coffee, but surprisingly it does not have a bitter after taste.  It has a great balanced flavor that is robust but not over the top.

Café Jerusalem Kosher Galilee Decaf - a Decaf coffee that doesn't taste like it is missing anything.  This variety is also well rounded and full of flavor.  It is considered a medium roast but has a great coffee flavor.

I loved the convenience of the Gorton's Grilled Salmon Fillets.  They were so easy to prepare in the oven and I love that they only have 100 calories per serving.  The package also said you could cook them in the microwave but I didn't try that.  The salmon cooked up perfectly and had an amazing texture and taste.  I love them and how they help me keep on a healthy track.

Like I mentioned before I also enjoyed some of Gorton's Skillet Crisps.  I am in heaven....they are amazing!  I also used my oven to bake up these fillets and, "OH MY GOODNESS!!!" they baked up so crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.  I can't wait to buy more of these!  And of course when I do I am going to print of one of the Gorton's coupons and are available online.  You can to right here. 

I need to think outside the box when using Gorton's seafood as they offer a ton of free recipes online.  But, I so enjoy the clean flavors simply.  But I promise at least once during lent to try out one of their recipes like Skillet Crisp Tilapia with Garlic and Tomatillo Salsa.

Busy life, Busy family, Busy job, Busy everything!!!

Why not make at least one or two things in your life easier?  I know if I can find a short cut that actually works I am in heaven, knowing I will have a few extra minutes to get other busy work done.

Many years ago I came up with my own shortcut when it came to home cooking.  I would make HUGE batches of my family's favorite recipes and then portion them out and freeze them.  Can you say a home cooked meal on a hectic day without all the work?  It is fantastic!!!

Two of my favorite, go-to recipes that I always have on hand in the freezer is my homemade meatballs homemade pasta sauce.  I actually make two different size meatballs.  The larger ones are perfect for meatball subs and the smaller meatballs go perfect with pasta and sauce.

Speaking of pasta....one of my biggest pet peeves is always having to snap the long spaghetti noodles before adding them into a pot of boiling water.  Can you say messy?  Or how about little tiny pieces of noodles...everywhere!!!  And then all the extra clean up!  uggg.

Babies come in all shapes and sizes.  But I feel all babies have one thing in common; Sensitive skin which must be cared for in a gentle way to give them that fresh clean baby touch and smell.

It only takes 4 steps to use your LED Professional Teeth Whitening System for the first time...

First remove the back of the battery shield...which is in the picture above and the battery shield has been removed.  Take off the clear plastic disk from underneath the batteries and put the batteries back in place. Then screw back on the shield.  Now with a simple click on the on button the unit will glow.

Second get the whitening gel pen.  The long silver colored cap comes off to expose a soft bristled brush.  Turn the opposite end of the pen to get the gel flowing into the bristles.  It took over 40 twists to get my gel to come out. 

Third apply the gel by brushing it onto your teeth.  The gel is nice and thick and tastes minty.  It is easy to paint on and stays in place.  The only trick is to keep your lips and saliva for touch your teeth while you apply it.  I will admit it is complicated at first but gets easier with each application.  I had to twist the bottom of the pen to get more gel after brushing around two to three of my teeth.  Then put on the lip guard.  It is very soft and flexible.  So it is comfortable to wear.

The Fourth and Final Step....Turn on the LED light system and insert the clear part of the light into your mouth so the light sits against your lip guard.  Now get comfortable as it is recommended to keep this in your mouth for 20 to 45 minutes...and you can continue the whitening process by continuing to wear your lip guard for an additional 1 to 2 hours.  I have sensitive teeth so I only used it for 20 minutes with the LED light.

But if you are like me Smile Brilliant also offers a Desensitizing Gel to help with those issues.

I have applied the system to mine teeth twice and do notice a color difference.  My teeth do not look fake, but nice and clean and white.  I will admit they are sensitive but the results are amazing.

Pompeian grapeseed oil Spray and Christmas Candy Making - Peanut Brittle Chance to win $200

So what does the Holidays mean around our home?  Christmas baking, Christmas baking and Christmas candy making....Really it does!!!

I make over 14 different sweet treats to share with family and family alike.

When I was giving the chance a few weeks ago thanks to Smiley360.com and Pompeian to sample a new product called Pompeian Grapeseed Oil Spray I couldn't wait to give it a workout with some of my holiday candy making.

I first learned Pompeian Grapeseed Oil (Pompeian is on Facebook) is an all natural cooking spray that is imported from France.  It is a rich source of Vitamin E and antioxidants.  And I love that Pompeian Grapeseed Oil is propellant free by using a new designed pouch system which help protect the oil from damaging light.  For more product information, click here

So I decided to use a mist of Pompeian Grapeseed Oil on my pans I use to make my  homemade peanut brittle  and see if it would work under such hot and sticky conditons.

Ingredients:

2 cups granulated white sugar
1 cup white syrup (corn syrup)
1 scant cup water
2 cups raw peanuts
2 teaspoons of baking soda
2 Tablespoons of unsalted butter - I cut the butter up in cubes to help it incorporate quicker.
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Boil first 3 ingredients over medium heat to soft ball stage.

Add peanuts.

Cook until light brown (hard crack), stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and continue to stir while adding add baking soda, salt and butter.

 

Do not over stir the baking soda/salt and butter in, otherwise you will knock all of the air bubbles out of the brittle and it will be hard.

Pour out onto 2 Pompeian Grapeseed oil Spray coated cookie sheets - DO NOT STRETCH OUT!!!
