Purex Complete with Zout Detergent Review / Giveaway - 2 Chances to win!!

I am so proud to be a Purex Insider.  It has been such an awesome experience so far.  I get the opportunity to try the great new products and share these products with my bloggy friends.

The newest addition to Purex has been Purex Complete with Zout.  Purex must have been reading my mind.  With three young boys in my house, I am CONSTANTLY stain treating everything, it seems like in my loads.  And the best part is my stain treating favorite is Zout.  And with Skin Allergies in our house they also make Purex Complete with Zout in Free & Clear.

I have now used the entire bottle of Purex Complete with Zout Free and Clear and I am in love!  It is the best and I can't imagine using anything else.  It keeps up with our family of boys and ALL the Stains that come along with them.

I am sure a lot of you have questions about this new  Purex product....Here is some answers.....

Is Purex Complete with Zout hypoallergenic?

Yes, both of the formulas, Fresh Morning Burst and Free & Clear, have been tested and found to be hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin. The Free & Clear formula contains no dyes or fragrances.

What is it:

Purex Complete with Zout combines the proven performance of Purex detergent with the triple-enzyme stain-fighting power of Zout stain remover.

How it Fights Stains:

Purex Complete with Zout contains 3 powerful stain-fighting enzymes. Each Enzyme targets a different type of stain:

Protease: Works against protein based stains such as grass and blood

Amylase: Works against starchy stains such as chocolate and tomato sauce

Mannanase: Works against guard, which is used as a thickener in many foods, such as ice cream, BBQ sauce and salad dressing, because it’s super sticky. Unfortunately it really sticks to fabrics too, making stains very difficult to remove. That’s why the Mannanase enzyme is so important in Purex Complete with Zout.

How to use it:

Purex Complete with Zout can be used as both a pre-treater and a detergent making it great for everyday laundry and heavily soiled loads

For normal wash loads, use it just as you would a normal detergent.

For really tough stains, poor a little directly on the stain and rub into fabric. Let it sit for 5 minutes before putting it into the washer.

Purex Complete with Zout is specifically formulated to work in both traditional and High Efficiency (HE) washer.

Giving Snowballs in my Christmas Goodie Bags - Noel Cookie Recipe

I like to call this recipe Snowballs - many other call these Cookies Noel Balls, Mexican Wedding Cookies or Russian Tea Cakes to name a few titles.

I have made a double batch of these wonderfully sweet, crumbly, buttery and all around tasty cookies this year.  As I roll them in the powdered sugar - I just want to take one and throw it...as they look like little snowballs.

Boy I couldn't imagine if I ever acted on that impulse - my boys would be joining in right away with the "snowball fight".  What a mess that would be :)

I think it is a must to drink a hot cup of your favorite coffee with these delectable bites.  It helps to cut the sweetness and crumbly texture.  One of my favorites is a cup of Decaf coffee from Pears Gourmet http://www.pearsgourmet.com/ .  They have such a great selection of seasonal coffees also.  They are a wonderful homegrown (Nebraska) company that has a fabulous assortment of coffees, nuts, and more.

Their shipping and customer service is top notch!  So you could order your coffee and your walnuts for this recipe if you want - they are having a sale currently on their baking nuts -15% off - http://www.pearsgourmet.com/Category/Pears-Buy-the-Pound/Baking-Nuts.aspx

Here's the recipe to these fun and tasty Snowballs.

Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

6 tablespoons confectioners' sugar

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup chopped walnuts

1/2 cup confectioners' sugar for decoration

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a medium bowl, cream butter and vanilla until smooth.

Combine the 6 tablespoons confectioners' sugar and flour; stir into the butter mixture until just blended.

Mix in the chopped walnuts.

Roll dough into 1 inch balls, and place them 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven.  Remove from baking sheet and cool on a rack.

When cool, roll in remaining confectioners' sugar.

If you are giving these away as gifts - you may want to re-roll them in the powdered sugar before adding them to your goodie bag.

Shutterfly’s 2010 Holiday Christmas Card Collection is Wonderful!

Well it's that time of year again to start figuring out if you are going to send out Christmas Cards or not.  For a few years I just gave up and didn't send any cards out.  It was so much work - finding the right cards...then writing something on each one....then addressing the envelopes, including return addresses.

That all changed around two years ago.  I found out about http://www.Shutterfly.com.  It is an awesome site with such creative ways to personalize your cards, including return address labels at an affordable rate.  Shutterfly also offers many other services such as Stationary, Calenders, Photo Books, and Home Decor http://www.shutterfly.com/photo-gifts/photo-mugs.

The Shutterfly site is very user friendly and when you make an account Shutterfly stores your information and designs that you have created.  Which is awesome - as when I got on their site just a few days ago to start figuring out which style I was planning on using this year - It brought me to the Christmas Cards I made the last two years.  Boy my children have grown sooooo much.

Now the hard part begins...which design should I select this year???  How many photos should I use??  Black and White or Color???  Oh, the wonderful choices.

There are so many options to choose from - take a look.  http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/christmas-cards   If you are new to Shutterfly, they had great specials just for new customers - that can't be beat.  If you are a return customer, check out their site - they always seem to be having some kind of special going on.

I love the Merry Montage design and Fun Holiday Wishes....but I will make my decision sometime next week.

Which design do you like best???

Breyers Yo Crunch Yogurt Giveaway

I am always on the look out for new options for breakfast as well as healthy snacks. I love Breyers Yo Crunch - it is so easy to take to work and snack on - plus the granola adds a whole different aspect to snacking on yogurt.

I am a proud cervical cancer survivor and as you can see by the photo

 - I have a lot to live for and try the best to eat healthy so I can be around many many more years. I went on their website http://www.yocrunch.com/ and even submitted an application to be an Ambassador - if chosen I get a free Yo Crunch t-shirt! If you check out their site you can print off a $1 coupon - for all you coupon lovers.

The best part of this great company is I started following them on Twitter and Facebook.  Last week they asked followers to submit their best snacking tip to win some Yo Crunch.  I submitted the following tip -  "I love to cut up fresh fruit like strawberries, bananas, peaches...ect.. and my boys dip them in flavored yogurt.  I found out I am going to receive 30 - YES 30 Coupons for Free Yo Crunch Yogurt!!!  That is a month supply - so you have to check out Breyers Yo Crunch on Facebook - They let me know they will be starting a new contest this week on Facebook - I am curious to see what it will be.

Here is a little more information on Yo Crunch just in case you are interested that I got from their website - Hunger can strike at any time, we all know it. When you get the urge to reach for a snack, it’s key to snack smart. Snacks can give you an energy boost, and also fill you up with the vitamins and nutrients that your body needs. The American Dietetic Association recommends the following tips when choosing your snacks:

•Think of snacks as mini-meals that contribute nutrient-rich foods. You can fit snack calories into your personal healthy eating plan without over-spending your day’s calorie budget.

•Snack only when you’re hungry. Skip the urge to nibble when you’re bored, frustrated or stressed. Feed the urge to do something by walking the dog or working in the garden.

•Keep portion control in mind. Have a single-serve container of yogurt or put a small serving of nuts in a bowl. Eating directly from a multiple-serving package can lead to overeating.

•Plan snacks ahead of time. Keep a variety of nutritious ready-to-eat supplies on hand, such as whole grain crackers and low-fat cheese.

Keep these in mind as you choose your snacks, and be sure to pick up your favorite flavor of YoCrunch
