I was thrilled a few weeks ago to be recontacted by a superb company I have worked with in the past as I did a review and giveaway for their Moravian Cookies and Cheese Biscuits.
Salem Baking Co. asked if I could share with all of you my thoughts on their NEWEST line of Crackers...All Natural Flatbread Crackers......And give a box of all 4 flavors away to one Lucky Winner (see Rafflecopter below). Well...was there a decision to be made with this question?
No, definitely not....I couldn't wait for my samples to arrive in the mail....It was fun waiting for the Four Flavors of All Natural Flatbread Crackers from Salem Baking Co. to arrive. I kept wondering and guess how the Cheddar and Chive....the Cracked Pepper and Sea Salt....and Rosemary and Olive Oil...and oh the Italian Herb and Tomato would each taste.
I want everyone to know the texture of all these Flatbread Crackers were not like any other Flatbread Cracker I have enjoyed in the past. I love the thickness and crunchy but not hard texture. I could actually take a bite without the entire cracker breaking or crumbling all over. Which makes them perfect to enjoy topping with fresh spreads, cheese and even meat or salmon.
I am going to start by sharing my thoughts and taste buds about the Cheddar and Chive Flatbread Crackers. I love not reading any of the ingredients on the box and just letting my taste buds experience the full flavor. This delightful Flatbread Cracker surprised me the most!
The premium aged cheddar was nice and strong with a slight hint of Chives, but it is the cayenne pepper that wakes your mouth up and turns the corners up into a smile...NO not just a smile and grin. It was such a unexpected flavor profile that worked perfectly! Bravo Salem Baking Co...This one is a Winner!!!
The Cracker Pepper and Sea Salt Flatbread Cracker was just how I thought it would be. First it is a beautiful pale color with flecks of black pepper throughout. The Sea Salt is nice and light...not over powering at all. But the Cracker Pepper was so much fun, as it just kind of sneaks up at the end to make for a fun and enjoyable tasting experience.
The Italian Herb and Tomato was my oldest son's favorite. When I opened up the sealed bag he was excited at the aroma that greated him. This Flatbread is the best of both worlds.....nice crunchy texture but it is like you are enjoying a perfectly seasoned Italian sauce...with extra virgin olive oil, sweet basil and oregano. I need to get more of these because I can only imagine how perfect these Flatbreads would be topped with fresh mozzarella that I make and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar...I am salivating just thinking about it.
I must confess I love Rosemary! So yes... my absolute favorite Flatbread Cracker from Salem Baking Co is the Rosemary and Olive Oil. The Rosemary was so fragrant and beautiful. I loved the added sea salt and cracked black pepper. I really could just sit down and eat the whole box. I love them!!!
Keep up the excellent work Salem Baking Co. and making....
