Gourmet Protein Bars - Packed with Protein 25grams each (whey isolate)!

 
I was so grateful to be giving the chance to receive three free protein bars make by Pure Fitness Nutrition to sample and share my opinions.  Any of you out there can relate that there are so many different types of protein bars out on the market today.  Some are amazing and others belong in the trash can.

These Gourmet Protein Bars by Pure Fitness Nutrition surprised me with their very simple packaging. The packing reminded of something I could do out of my own kitchen, but the labels were very detailed with the ingredients, calories and other important information.  I loved reading the labels and learning that these gourmet protein bars contain clean raw oats, healthy agave which helps regulate your blood sugar and also gives you sustained energy levels which do not case fat storage like sugar can.  They also use all natural honey to make some of their varieties moist and delicious.

I was hopeful with the homemade look to their packaging that this pack full of protein gourmet bars would be delicious. 

I first tried the Peanut Butter and Jelly Crunch.

This bar was beautiful to look at and satisfying to eat.  I like that is is made with All Natural Ingredients and NO trans fat.  The raw oats and chica seeds gave it a great crunch.  The bar was very dense but not hard on my teeth.  It lead to a nice chew which I found slowed me down when enjoying a bar, which helped satisfy my hunger. 

The natural peanut butter, natural strawberry jam and sprinkle of sea salt added a great and complex flavor profile.  It was sweet and yet salty at times. 

The Gourmet Banana Chocolate Nut Protein Bar was loaded full of Natural banana flavor thanks to dried banana. 

How does a company go wrong with the combination of chocolate and banana....They Can't!!

This hand made protein bar flavor was delicious with a firm but not hard on your teeth chew.  The chocolate was a light flavor note and did not over power the beauty of the bananas, walnuts and raw oats.

And last but not least was the Dark Chocolate Cranberry Gourmet Protein Bar.

My first words to describe this bar was shock and love.  My mouth was greeted with a moist yet chewy chocolaty protein bar with a hint of cinnamon.  It reminded me of Mexican Hot Chocolate.  Delicious!!!  And the moist cranberries tucked in the bar were tart and flavorful.  This bar is a Winner!


I wanted to mention that Pure Fitness Nutrition's Gourmet Protein Bars do contain slightly more calories that other protein bars.  Each of the three bars I reviewed contained between 341 and 391 calories.  But I feel the combination of All Natural Ingredients and 25 grams of protein accounted for the extra calories and meet a well balanced and healthy diet.

Michael Bublé Album To Be Loved Review #ToBeLoved

Garden Inspiration - Miracle-Gro’s The Gro Project

Well, after to unexpected April Blizzards here in Nebraska, I think Spring has finally sprung.  And I have gardening fever.  But in my area of the country I still have to wait awhile for digging in to our soil outside.  But that doesn’t mean I can’t start other simple and fun garden projects.  Especially the ones that get my three boys involved.

I found out about Miracle-Gro’s The Gro Project a few days ago and came across the most amazing and simple project.  I am going to do with my boys next weekend.  It is called Toyrarium.

All you need is a fish bowl or other glass container, some cactus or other succulents, Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix, Rocks, a spoon and some extra plastic toys or figures for your children’s room.  Okay, doesn’t like sound like fun?  We are going to have a blast.  I can’t wait to see how our Toyrarium will turn out. 

 

So all you need to do is:

1) Get a fish fish bowl or other glass container (I love to repurpose!)

2) Add some Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix in the bottle of the bowl or container.

3) Then plant your cactus or other plants by using a spoon.

4)  Last have you children personalize the project with some of their small toys.

I better make sure to buy some indoor Shake’n Feed All Purpose Plant Food to supplement our so to be fun indoor cactus garden.  Or maybe I should check out the LiquaFeed All Purpose Plant Food Advance Starter Kit?  I will have to read up about the differences and see what will be the best.

I think I will start with the Health and Fitness Products I received.  The ProMax workout shirt was a nice surprise.  The shirt was an added bonus and is great to wear to the gym.

ProMax and Celsius

Speaking of ProMax, I had never tried the Fit N' Crisp snack before.  I love it...it is a sweet rice crispy vanilla treat with protein.  It is a win, win for me.  It gets my sweet tooth satisfied as well as my hunger.  This will be a repeat purchase for me. 

The ProMax Pro Series Peanut Butter Crisp is packed full of protein - 28 grams to be specific.  This an extreme protein bar, but doesn't taste like you are chewing on a hale bale.  The texture was nice and not overly firm.  The flavor profile was pleasant with a nice peanut butter taste.  Just be aware if you are watching your calories each bar contains 350 calories.

Ahh....my workout necessity - Celsius!!!  The negative calorie drink - this can help burn up to 100 calories during your workout.  How perfect.  It gives me a lot of extra energy to get through my workouts without the jitters.  I am a Celsius addict!!  No, really I am!  You have got to try this fitness / workout drink!

TwinLab Nitric Fuel is an extreme strength and pump supplement.  You need to read the label carefully and make sure you start this supplement very slowly and drink plenty of water.  You will feel this supplement.  Make sure you are ready for an intensive hour or two workout.  As, this fuel will keep you going and going and going.

The MegaFood Kid's Vitamin D3 was not a do again with my boys. They did not like the taste at all.  So that is all I have to say about this product.

He love his new soap. What a great product for any suffering from Eczema.  It doesn't irritate his skin and doesn't leave behind a scent.

PSCPets Joint Support for Small Dogs Review

As a proud pet owner, I feel it is my duty to take care of our pets like one of my own children.  Two of our special fury friends are rescue dogs.  I can't imagine our lives without their loyalty and companionship.  In return I must make sure they receive excellent care and proper nutrition and supplements.

 

Our lab, named Lucky has joint difficulties and daily he receives a supplement to help with his problems.  But, I never really thought about giving our Corgi, Radar a joint supplement.  As he never has had any joint problems.  The more I thought about this, the more I began to feel guilty....That would be live not giving my boys, vitamins because they are currently healthy. 

 

So, my thoughts have now changed in regards to joint support for our Corgi, Radar.

I was amazing to see how many different supplements were contained in each soft chew.  Including but not limited to: glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, manganese, and Vitamins E.

 

Glucosamine is used to create cushion in joints.  It has long been thought to help with the health and resiliency of joints and help avoid damage caused by arthritis and stop the degeneration of cartilage.

 

Chondroitin is thought to increase the efficiency of glucosamine.

 

Manganese helps with the detoxification of damaging free radicals.

 

Vitamin E is an important antioxidant and is involved in the immune function.

 

So what did Radar think about PSCPets Joint Support?

And then the what while I tried to snap a photo.....Radar loves taking his joint support.  The soft chews are very strong smelling and make my hands smell, so I have to wash them after giving him is daily dose.  But, he LOVES them and chews each dose right up.  Radar is still "spring loaded" and constantly jumps without any pain.

Spring Time yard work with the help of Scotts Flordia Select Mulch

I feel like I keep saying that I think our snow is finally done and sadly it is May and we have already had another snow storm come through.  But, that doesn’t mean I don’t have Spring Fever (big time).  So what I have started to do is plan what I need for gardening supplies to make it turn into sustainable gardening.

I long for my yard to look beautiful like years past and even better.  I love looking at photos I have taken over the years of other beautiful flowers and plants to help spark my creativity.

For starters I know I will need some gardening tools (rake, hoe, shovel, trowel, etc…).  I must not forget to buy a new pair of yard gloves.  These are so important to keep my hands from getting sore, stained and even cut at times.  Next on the list is to buy plants, flowers and some seeds to get my yard back into beautiful shape.  After that all I need is some strong muscles and to get busy.

I almost forgot to add one more thing to my to-do-list for preparing my yard for a season or two of beauty.  I am thinking about trying Scotts Florida Select Natural Eucalyptus Mulch. 

Don’t worry…I know I don’t live in Florida and many of you don’t too.  This mulch is made from 100% Florida grown eucalyptus.  Scotts Florida Select Mulch is available nationwide in three different colors.  I really like the Deep Forest Brown color.

But Classic Black and Sierra Red are nice too. 

I like using Scotts Mulch because it helps maintain moisture which is very important in the dry climate I live in.  Mulch also prevents weeds, which I LOVE!  I am excited to see the variety of textures Scotts Nature Scapes mulch comes in.  It will make my yard look great for every season.  And I feel like I am given back to the earth.  The reason is Scotts Florida Select Mulch is a no waste wood and is guaranteed free from any demolition, construction, pallet or other waste materials.  The sustainably-harvested Eucalyptus that is grown on Florida plantations is a renewable resource that re-grows up to 4 times faster than Cypress.  So in my book this is a feel good mulch. 

Now, I am ready to get back into my Spring yard and make it beautiful once again. 

Just in case you have never used mulch before it is very simple to do.  Just spread the mulch 3 inches deep around your shrubs, flowers, veggies and trees (wait until your seeds have germinated and your plants are developed.  But, remember to keep mulch several inches away from your tree trucks and house foundations, including other wood structures.
