Disclaimer: I was provided a digital free sample of this story to review and compensation, and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review in return for the free product and giveaway.

Casey Caterpillar Feels Left Out

Thanks to Amazon.com for the photo.
I have been honored to have the opportunity to review the great children's book above called Casey Caterpillar feels left out.  And the best part is this children's book hasn't been released yet - but don't worry!  You can pre-order you copy via Amazon or Ruby's Studio.  Hence this Review - also offering a $25 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway!  If you win you can use your gift card to pre-order your Casey Caterpillar Feels Left Out Book.

This book is perfect for my 5 year old, especially where he just started school a few weeks ago.  I still can't believe how time flies - he is already in school and having to learn life lessons.  Lessons like feeling left out.

I must say the illustrations are so bright and draw you right into this life lessons storybook.  This brilliant book is about...

"Sweet little Casey Caterpillar feels left out when Lucy Ladybug and Bette Bumblebee play "Air Acrobatics" because Casey doesn’t yet have wings! When Mentor Bailey Butterfly encourages Casey to share how she feels, the whole gang learns an important lesson about empathy."

The words are easy to see and read.  I feel there is a perfect amount of words to a page to keep your child interested throughout this educational story.
Thank you Ruby's Studio for the photo.

I love the info that is shared on the back cover including:

"When Bette Bumblebee and Lucy Ladybug suggest playing their favorite flying game, Casey Caterpillar (who doesn't yet have wings) feels terribly left out by her friends. Upset, Casey scoots off and is met on the path by wise Bailey Butterfly, who helps Casey build the courage to tell her friends how she feels. With lush, colorful illustrations, this thoughtful exploration of friendship encourages young readers to solve their conflicts through compassion, consideration and kindness.

· Teaches empathy through relatable characters and situations

· Offers children the words to express when they feel excluded

· Gorgeous images and memorable characters

· First in a series of children’s books featuring this charming garden universe"

Casey Caterpillar Feels Left Out is meant for ages 3 to 6 years old; with a grade level from Preschool to 2nd Grade.  It is a hard cover book with 30 wonderful pages.  The publisher is Ruby's Studio.

And if you are wondering about the Author of this life lessons book...her name is Samantha Kurtzman-Counter.  She is a children's book author, children's show producer/director and President of The Mother Company.  And I think the best fact of all about this author is, "She is a Mother"!  A mother of a boy named Jack who just entered Kindergarten.  So she understands what is important to us parents.

So who is ready to enter to win their own $25 Amazon Gift Card?

Is that a yes, I hear??

Don't forget to show some love on the sponsors social media pages.

Hugo The Happy Starfish - The Last Bully Book Review

Written by Suzy Liebermann

I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to review another book in the series of Hugo The Happy Starfish.  As a few months ago I had the chance to review Hugo The Happy Starfish - The Secret To Happiness and it was amazing.

As the inside of the book jacket states...."Happiness Begins With Respect".  What a truthful statement that I only wish the world could understand.  Hopefully with the help of Hugo and his "The Last Bully" adventure we can educated our children, how negative bullying is and what a little respect and a positive attitude can do to make the world a better place.

In this vivid ocean experience, the illustrations bring to life the valuable lesson about respect and what to do if you are being bullied.

This Hugo The Happy Starfish book incorporates important character education and helps teach a small amount of the Spanish language.  The Spanish words used during the story are also included in the back of the book in the vocabulary section.  The HUGO series supports the IB Leaner Profiles and Attitudes of the International Baccalaureate Program (PYP books).

I truly enjoyed sharing this important book and message with my 3 boys.  To give you a little insight into the story line...here is what the book jacket cover shared....

"Hugo is a little starfish and so it’s not surprising that in this story he comes across several bigger fish in the ocean. Sadly, they are bigger fish with the wrong attitudes – they are bullies! After seeing his friend getting bullied, Hugo decides enough is enough. He forms the Anti-Bully Club and teaches the bullies a valuable lesson about respect.

By working together as a group, Hugo and his friends manage to show the bullies that there is always a bigger fish in the sea and that happiness comes from respecting others not bullying them."

Each of my boys ages 4, 7 and 9 all appeared to understand the message in the children's book book about bullying. As a parent I feel it is important to teach respect and in turn help our children learn respect so when the are put into a situation where they are being bullied or witness someone else being bullied they will get help.

I am so passionate about this message that I am planning on having my school aged boys bring this book to school to share.  As I feel it helps address bullying in schools.

I highly recommend this book to all and for more info on this book and the author you can go to www.MyStarfish.org.  And I also wanted to share the great news that as of the ended of February 2013 the 1st Hugo book The Secret To Happiness is available in 7 different languages through Amazon EBooks.

Remember this important message....

DON'T BULLY!

I am thrilled to have been given the chance to review a great "ass"est (no pun intended) to assist with my weight loss and health management...

and I am certain this workbook will become a favorite of yours too.

PLUS....1 Very Lucky USA person is going to win their own hard copy of the Fat Chance! The No-Going-Back Weight Loss Workbook...Keep ready for your chance to enter to win.

I totally understand if you don't want to wait and see if you are going to be the winner.  You can purchase your own Fat Chance! book right now on Amazon or Shopping Moa and get busy thinking like a slim person.

Yes, I said a slim person.  Fat Chance! focuses on forgetting how fat people diet and refocusing on how slim people eat.  My first thought was..."Wow, why didn't I think of that?"  What a great and innovative approach to what can be a very challenging and frustrating battle.  The battle to get healthy and lose those extra pounds for good!

I must say I LOVE the fact that Fat Chance! is not a diet!  I HATE the word diet...it sounds so dirty and horrible.  That word alone I feel can set a person up for failure from the get go.

So that being said,... "Fat Chance! is A 'simply no diet' weight loss workbook with 12-week-program for permanent healthy lifestyle. "

Fat Chance! will teach you and I over 12 weeks to change our thinking, habits and lifestyle forever!!  This education and mind set transformation will allow for gradual and slow weight loss.  Like I say.."Slow and Steady wins the race!".  The gradual and slow weight loss will help to make it permanent with your new healthy lifestyle.

I love how this work book is based on a very holistic approach.  So there is no negative thoughts or actions...only putting into place new and effective good habits and strategies.

Fat Chance!  has a great and supportive Facebook page where you can see how others are using the novel workout to succeed.

I love how hands on this workbook is.  And the fun way it is laid out.
It makes me want to open it everyday and see what positive changes are in store.  I also like how each and every page can be customized to make it work for me.  Plus, it can be used in conjunction with any other sensible and reputable eating programs...like Nutrisystem that I personally just finished a few months ago.

I think Fat Chance! helps keep me accountable to myself, by making me slow down and think about the choices I make each and everyday.  It really does, because the thought of writing down what I has accomplished for the day, keeps me motivated to stay on track.  And the more you do something positive, the easier it is the next day and the next.  And before you know it, these positive changes have become your new healhty way of life.

So get busy thinking like a slim person and start your life changing journey today!

Good Luck and I hope you are the winner of this amazing workbook!

Hugo The Happy Starfish - The Secret To Happiness Book Review

Hugo The Happy Starfish - The Secret To Happiness

Written by Suzy Liebermann

A bright and colorful children's book with the most important message to be learned from all who open up this underwater adventure.  Learn more about the HUGO adventures, here.

I feel it important to share what the book jacket had to say on the inside cover.  As it truly explains the importance of this fun and educational book.  "Encouraging children to give teaches them empathy, as well as a sense of social responsibility.  Children can feel empowered by giving and sharing with others."
I love how this book is clearly labeled on the back what its main topic is....Empathy.

This attitude of empathy is such a key in our society, which often is missing.  That is why I love finding books that serve many different roles towards molding our children into compassionate, educated and productive members of our world.

The lesson of empathy is taught through the life of Hugo, a little starfish.  Hugo finds life dull and is tired of feeling sad.  So he sets off to find happiness.  After many attempts and short lived successes, he discovers that "something" which makes his heart do a somersault!  He figured out that sharing with others is the ONLY thing that makes him truly happy.

There is a reason why Hugo The Happy Starfish - The Secret To Happiness is award winning - "Award-Winning Finalist in the CHILDREN'S MIND/ BODY/ SPIRIT
category of The USA "Best Books 2012" Awards, sponsored by USA Book News"
-because it is very deserving.

I almost forgot to mention along with this very important character education, lesson of empathy; Spanish is also taught.  A few words are added into the story with the English and the Spanish word used and both are included in the vocabulary section in the back of the book.  The HUGO series supports the IB Learner Profiles and Attitudes of the International Baccalaureate Program (PYP books).

I would like to say that my boys enjoy this adventure with HUGO and so do I.  I highly recommend this book to all and for more info on this book and the author you can go to www.MyStarfish.org.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Looney Tunes Personalized Children's Books Review

Are you a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, friend or a person that has a special child in their life?

If you are, I have the perfect gift idea for you!

Do you want to give a gift that you know will not be duplicated by others?  A gift that will turn into a treasured self-esteem builder and spark excitement about reading.

I have the perfect gift suggestion....how about personalized children’s books?

I was selected to review a great Looney Tunes Personalized Children's Book from KD Novelties.  I first must say I was amazing at how detailed the personalization was.  I was able to, of course have my child's name in the book, but it also incorporates details like hometown, state, 3 different friends or others, and even age if you would like.  You can even express yourself in a dedication included in the book.

Look at this example of the great and vividly colored children's books you could give as a gift.
This is the personalized book I received to review.  I was thrilled as the quick shipping, especially since it was personalized.  It was very impressive.  And the quality of the book including the pages, illustrations, colors and cover were top notch.

I do not have a single complaint.  I think my favorite part of these type of personalized books is that it makes children want to read.  It helps to build their self-esteem as they play a lead role in the book.

In the great Looney Tunes Personalized Children's Book I received my son was the main character in the store.  He was able to go on an adventure to see the Wizard.  It was so much fun.

There is still plenty of time to order your kid's books today.

The Pure Pantry Gluten Free and Delicious Baking Mixes Review PLUS Fresh from Elizabeth's Kitchen Gluten and Allergy Free Cookbook Review

Six years ago Elizabeth was diagnosed with celiac disease, a condition caused by an autoimmune reaction to gluten – a protein found in wheat, rye, barley, and oats. She later learned her two children,  also had severe gluten sensitivity as well as allergies to several other foods.

After several years of experimenting by Elizabeth in the kitchen and stellar reviews from family and friends, she developed a delicious new line of baking mixes from organic, nutritious, whole grain flours high in fiber and omega 3s together with unique recipes that provide limitless possibilities for creating pancakes, waffles, cookies, crepes, muffins, breads, scones, cakes and more.

So the Pure Pantry was born!

The Pure Pantry offers many versatile, certified organic, baking mixes made with delicious, wholesome ingredients free of gluten, casein, dairy, nuts, soy, eggs, refined sugars or preservatives.

Elizabeth was kind and sent me out three of her mixes and her Amazing and Beautiful Cookbook, Fresh from Elizabeth's Kitchen to review.
I want to say I love the packaging on these mixes.  They are in plastic-like bags with a foil lining.  The packages are very tough and store easily.  They also have an expiration date, so you can be sure to get a fresh product!

I am looking forward to trying The Pure Pantry's Organic Sugar Cookie Mix - which is free from gluten, dairy, soy, nuts and eggs.  I love how there are many other uses for the cookie mix right on the bag and website under the recipe section.

My husband is thrilled that we were sent a heavy bag of Organic Buckwheat Flax Pancake and Baking Mix.  He wants to make big pancakes next weekend.  I will have to let you know how they turn out.  If there is any mix left over, I want to make the Fiber Date Nut Scones featured on The Pure Pantry's website.

Being a Choco-holic of course I had to try the Wholegrain Dark Chocolate Cake Mix as soon as possible.  But I love using mixes to create something besides what the mix is typically intended for...so I found the recipe for Chocolate Pound Cake on the back of the bag.  I want to share how easy the steps were to create this beautiful gluten free masterpiece.

Preheat over to 350 degrees. (easy to do!)

Place the beautiful cake mix in a large bowl.

In smaller bowl blend together 4 large eggs and 1/2 cup melted butter (I like to use Unsalted, but the bag also suggests non-hydrogenated butter substitute).

Pour egg mixture into cake mix bowl.

Blend to combine.

Add 1 cup of hot water to cake mix.
Blend until combined.

Pour the batter into a lightly greased loaf pan...then off to the oven for 45 minutes.

Look at this beauty!

And my The Pure Pantry Pound Cake even tasted better that is looked...and that is saying a lot becuase it is perfect!  I enjoyed a slice with a little whipping cream on the side.

Now I just need to make time to start cooking thanks to my new cookbook...

It is a beautiful cookbook with easy to read printed recipes and awe inspiring color photos throughout the cookbook.

The table of contents is perfect and only gets better when you browse through each well marked chapter.

The beginning of each chapter starts with beautiful photos and a list of the recipes contained in that section.
I can't wait to try the Turkey Meatballs and Gigi's French Onion Soup.  But there are so many other mouth watering recipes that are calling my name in the cookbook.

You can purchase any or all of these items and more directly from The Pure Pantry website. They can also be found on Facebook and Twitter.

Disclaimer: The Pure Pantry provided me with free
samples of their product to review, and I was under no obligation to review it if
I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review in return for the free product.

Sticky Fingers' Sweets Cookbook Vegan Recipes Giveaway / Review $27.50 Value

I have a confession to make.....

I am truly a foodie in every aspect of my life and my children's lives.

I sleep, eat, play, watch, work, etc....and some how my mind is always on food....foods...and more food!

I am so addicted even my television is beginning to think all that is on tv is food related programs, especially the Food Network.  One of my current favorite shows is Cupcake Wars.

Every time their is a new winner, I am busy googling and trying to find out more about the Chef and their passionate business.

That is how I "googled" Cupcake War winner Doron Petersan.....and found .......

Her amazing cookbook:  Sticky Fingers' Sweets - 100 Super-Secret Vegan Recipes.

Wow, I am in awe that Doron Petersan opened her business Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats only back in 2002.  Look how far she has come in such a short time.

I was honored being sent her excellent cookbook to review and giveaway one copy!

I just want to say, don't let the word Vegan scare you.  It is not all that different and makes amazing recipes even better.  I love how Doron Petersan has opened up her life and cherished recipes for all to understand and create themselves in the comfort of our homes in a fun way.

Sticky Fingers' Sweets cookbook is very easy to read and navigate.

Included in this book:

Chapter 1: The Basics
Chapter 2: Favorite Cakes
Chapter 3: Sticky Fingers' Signature Cupcakes
Chapter 4: The Tifecta (The Three Recipes That Build This Bakery)
Chapter 5: Cookies
Chapter 6: Muffins, Breads, and Scones
Chapter 7: Brownies
Chapter 8: Making Whoopie
Chapter 9: Fab and Fruity Pies and Cheesecakes
Chapter 10: We've Got Seoul

I think the most important fact that was discussed in Chapter 1 was...

"You have to measure accurately and consistently every time.  Here at Sticky Fingers, we measure as little as possible.  "What the heck do you, mean Doron?  That makes no sense."  What I mean is that we weigh everything above 1 ounce and only use imperial measurements (you know, cups and spoons) for those small, pesky (yet important) "micro" ingredients.  Weight is where it's at in baking and where the true consistency lies."

As you can tell by the quote I took directly from Sticky Fingers' Sweets, you can and will learn a lot, but it is also a pleasure to read.  How many cookbooks can you say that about?

I enjoyed the little bits of information placed throughout the book amongst the flavorful recipes called "Love Bite"....read the funny one I found on page 192 (oh, did I forget to mention this cookbook has a whopping 288 pages!)

"Love Bite.......Mixing Burns Calories.....Unless you pick up a 1940s guide to homemaking, you probably won't see a source for the number of calories burned during ironing, baking, or martini-making.  But rest assured, your mixing is a calorie absolver, which will redeem itself during the last steps in recipe-making: indulging."

If you are new to Vegan baking don't worry....listed in the ingredients in each recipe are recommendations for certain Vegan products, like "non-hydrogenated vegan margarine".  If you are like me...SAY WHAT?  Just keep reading, "recommended: Earth Balance".  Yes, now it all makes sense.

Are you wanting to know what these Sweets can actually look like...Just flip to the center of the cookbook to ooogal over the centerfolds....

All in color and right in your face!!!  Oh, and keep flipping there are more towards the back!

Everyone....come follow me and learn with the help of Doron that you will not miss a thing with her Vegan recipes...actually it will leave you wanting to come back and bake more and more and more!

Who wants to win Sticky Fingers' Sweets for yourself?  Worried you may not win?  Don't worry you ca purchase your own copy on Amazon and many other online retailers or stop at your local book store and see if it is on the shelf.

Good Luck Everyone and Happy Baking.

I am so proud of my second grade son.  Just last weekend we stood in front of our church at mass and took the first step towards First Communion. It is scheduled for April 15th.  What a big step to take within the Roman Catholic Church.

My son is so nervous and excited about taking this step in his faith...(and finally getting to eat the bread!)  He has lots of questions and worries.  The biggest being, "having to wear a tie".  Gotta Love Little Boys.

I was thrilled to find I had the opportunity to review and giveaway one soft bound book called,

What a perfect gift for first communion.  I believe this book is best suited for a little girl, but my son did enjoy the first story of the book.  The illustrations were great.  Look at the middle page.

The second portion of the book covers clothing attire specifically for little girls (which is very educational...except for little boys).

You can purchase your own book on Amazon for a gift for first communion.
