My Mom's Hamburger Spaghetti Sauce Recipe - Family Favorite!

I thought it was time to share one of my favorite childhood recipes which my mom created and made frequently and still does when we come back to visit.  Which in turn I now make for my children - the only difference is they call it "Grandma's Spaghetti Sauce".

This recipe is so easy and tasty it can be put together in a hurry and enjoy by all.  And if you have any leftover it is easily frozen to use another time.

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 pound lean hamburger
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 - 8oz cans tomato sauce
1 quart tomato juice
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 Tablespoon chili powder
2 Tablespoons brown sugar

Directions:

Warm the oil in a large pot and add hamburger and chopped onion.  Cook until meat in no longer pink in color.

Add all other ingredients to the pot.

Stir to mix and let simmer for at least 30 minutes.

Serve over pasta (I love Barilla Whole Wheat Pasta) or even on a hot dog!

What are some of your favorite childhood recipes?
